Obituary for Ruby M Worley (Baston)

Ruby Mae Worley, 85, of Lamar, passed away Sunday morning, August 25, at her home surrounded by her family. Ruby was born October 12, 1927, to George and Laura (Blanchard) Baston in Iantha, MO. She graduated from Liberal High School with the class of “45”.
Ruby married Ira L. “Slim” Worley in Pineville, MO. She will be remembered for her twenty years as a waitress at the Blue Top Restaurant, but she was most proud of her years spent taking care of her grandchildren so Rhonda could work. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Lamar.
Ruby was preceded in death by husband; Slim Worley, on August 3, 1995; her parents; a brother, Claude Baston; a sister Dilia Percy. She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Overstreet and husband, Brad, of Lamar; a granddaughter, Ashley Overstreet and fiancé, Paul Bonneville, of Lafayette, CO; a grandson, Jordan Overstreet, of Jefferson City, MO; a sister, Mary Moser, of Iantha, MO; several nieces and nephews whom she treasured. She grew to love Brad and Rhonda’s dog, Macie Mae, her daily companion when she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law four and a half years ago. Two of her proudest moments were being able to attend both of her grandchildren’s college graduations.
